Godzilla fans pay tribute to Godzilla’s legendary nemesis by wearing their very personal Mechagodzilla costume.
This Halloween this year, this Halloween, a Godzilla costume pays tribute to the famous franchise.

Kai-Zilla, also known as @dr_kaju posted a photo of the costume on Twitter. Kai-Zilla donned the costume at G-Fest (also called Godzilla Fest), an annual event that is centered around Godzilla as well as other franchises within the Kaiju genre. In three of the photos, Kai-Zilla is also seen sitting next to his father, dressed in TARS. The robot, which is not humanoid, was used in the 2014 science fiction film Interstellar produced by Christopher Nolan.

Following the film’s debut in the year 1974’s Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla directed by Jun Fukuda, Mechagodzilla was an integral part of the Godzilla series. The storyline of the film was centered around Godzilla’s fight against the Titan made of metal after aliens crafted the Titan to conquer Earth. Mechagodzilla was featured in a variety of real-life and animated films, including Godzilla City on the Edge of Battle, Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2, Godzilla vs. Kong 2021, as well as Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2 (1993). Ernest Cline wrote the 2011 science fiction novel Ready Player One and Steven Spielberg directed its 2018 film adaptation.
The 2002 film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla produced by Maasaki Tezuka made its U.S. debut on November 3rd, which is known as “Godzilla Day.” The one-day screening took place in more than 450 cinemas across the nation. The audience was able to see the original Japanese version with English subtitles, and also an exclusive featurette that has not been seen before. On the same day, Godzilla fans at G-Fest were able to see the premiere of the film Godzilla Festival Gigan Attack, directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa ( Godzilla Vs. Hedorah). Nakagawa made the short film to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Godzilla Vs. Gigan was directed by Jun Fukuda.

Godzilla fans got a lot of positive news
Toho has confirmed they are working on a new Godzilla film in development. Takashi Yamazaki will be the director of the movie. He was a part of Toho’s Shin Godzilla and Godzilla films. The movie, which is yet to get an official name or working title, is set to release on November. 3, 2023. The follow-up to Legendary Pictures Godzilla vs. Kongis being filmed with the release date set for March 15th, 2024.
