One Piece Chapter 1078 Throws a Curveball with Complicating Revelation

The traitor of the Vegapunks has been revealed However, it’s a person who is a key player within them, making managing them a challenge.

The following article contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1078, “Escape Limit,” by Eiichiro Oda Stephen Paul, and Vanessa Satone. Available in English via Viz Media.

The most significant event in One Piece Chapter 1078, “Escape Limit,” was the revelation of the traitor among the Vegapunks. It turns out that it was York the Greedy who has been arranging Egghead’s affairs over the last three months. This is made difficult by the fact that she’s involved more than in the case of any other Vegapunk, not even Stella.

If it were any other Vegapunk, the answer could have been easy. The only thing the Straw Hats would have to do is either leave them to their fate under the control of the World Government or destroy them personally It could be similar to the way Kanjuro Kurozumi was dealt with. Because the majority of the Vegapunks are only interested in analyzing and collecting information, it would not necessarily be a major loss should something happen to any of them. York, however, plays a vital role among the Satellites.

Instead of analyzing or gathering data, York is instead responsible to perform all essential bodily functions of Satellites such as eating and sleeping. This allows the other Vegapunks to work without interruption. If anything happens to her, and she is unable to fulfill her duties and duties, the Satellites who all depend on her could slump over due to exhaustion or hunger.

There is a possibility that additional Satellites might eat and rest independently, however, this has not been confirmed. It might also be difficult for those who don’t have the human body. Robotic satellites like Pythagoras or Edison may need someone else to eat their meals. Even if They dispose of York, Lilith, and Atlas may have to do enough eating for the two of them and perhaps Shaka.

The original plan doesn’t change if York is needed by satellites. The Straw Hats would still be required to transport all seven Vegapunks off of Egghead to their next destination. They’ll be required to make the Greedy one prisoner instead of their guest.

Of course, it all is contingent on the destiny of Pythagoras and Shaka. Both seem to have been killed off however, the majority of One Piece fans know to second-guess apparent deaths and anticipate a fake-out. If they’re alive or can be revived Then York could be granted an opportunity to get a second chance as any villain is entitled to. If they fail to save York, she could be considered an irredeemable monster and be subject to what’s in store for York.

It’s unclear what will happen to York now that she’s been identified as an informer. Either she is taken into the Thousand Sunny as a prisoner or taken in by The World Government. Or, she could be killed. The latter option may not be the best depending on the importance of her character.
