Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC Needs to Address the Series’ Post-Game Problems

Despite Pokemon’s popularity, there is very little left for fans at the end of each story. Therefore, Pokemon Scarlett and Violet’s DLC should not be the same.

Pokémon has been a beloved series for more than two decades. This world of powerful, elemental creatures keeps fans coming back for more. However, Game Freak’s smash franchise continues to break sales records. There seems to be an end to titles like Pokemon Scarlet or Violet that offer no fun experiences.

There has been a limit on the amount of content in Pokemon. This is something that was rarely seen in other JRPGs. Pokemon and other monster-catching games such as Monster Hunter Stories 2, and Wings of Ruin, fans expect to be surrounded by amazing creatures and immersed in an adventure-filled world. Pokemon Scarlet and Purple are just two of the latest games in this series. After the main story, the possibilities end in a slow and almost tragic way. Although many Pokemon games have post-game content available, it is not enough to keep fans away from the next releases. Scarlet and Violet will be the next DLC.

What Pokemon’s Success Post-Game Requirements

Pokemon Scarlet or Violet will let fans defeat Sada or the AI Professor Turo. They’ll then be able to re-challenge Gym Leaders at full strength. After fans complete the extra walk in the Paldea area, they will be informed about the Academy Ace Tournament. This tournament serves as a strong defense against many different trainers and teachers that they have encountered during their journey. The Academy Ace Tournament ends, but all narrative-driven content in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet will be removed. This is a problem that the franchise has had for a long time.

Many Pokemon games have special events and quests that fans can unlock at their end. Sword or Shield, fans can enjoy an epilogue with Sordward or Shielbert. The adventure is not endless, but the franchise has recently stopped providing any kind of post-game loop to its main features. This makes what’s left feel like a chore to some players. Most titles become tedious as players only have one chance to face multiple trainers. This means that you’ll be fighting wild Pokemon and trying to complete your Pokedex. Or, sometimes, trying to find items at Battle Facilities.

How Pokemon Scarlett and Violet can breathe life into Paldea: A Hidden Treasure in Area Zero

DLC is now a standard feature in mainline Pokemon gaming, but fans can still refer to the Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pack to help build anticipation for The Hidden Treasure at Area Zero. Generation 8’s Expansion pass gave fans two sets of DLC that each had their own stories, areas, and features. The DLC didn’t include all features. exclusive Pokemon could be traded to anyone who had not yet purchased the pass.

It’s not too far to imagine that The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero updates might include features that make Pokemon Scarlet or Violet more of an enjoyable experience, even after the main story has ended. The Indigo Disk will likely be the second part. This is to allow one to begin their adventure at Blueberry Academy.

To keep players engaged, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are lacking a gameplay loop that offers more than just fighting wild Pokemon. Blueberry Academy is a place where “Pokemon fights thrive”, so it seems like the second Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC update could be the best place to learn new mechanics. This would be a great idea as players can see the battle academy as a place they can face many trainers. This makes the grind to complete their Pokedex much more enjoyable than battling wild Pokemon. Violet and Pokemon Scarlet both need variety in their endgame content to make it easier to wait for future releases.

Pokemon Scarlet and Vivid are now available for Nintendo Switch.
