Disney Boss Confirms an All-New Avengers Team Is Coming to the MCU

Bob Iger, Disney CEO, confirms that an Avengers team will be introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, he does not name any of the members.

Bob Iger, Disney CEO, has confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have a new roster of Avengers.

During his speech at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, Iger spoke about this change to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. He began by saying that while there is nothing wrong with the Marvel brand, Disney “just [has]to look at [its] mining for characters and stories.” He continued, “If you look at Marvel’s trajectory in the next five years, there will be much newness.” “We are going to return to the Avengers franchise, with a whole new group of Avengers. Iger didn’t name any characters that would be joining the new roster.

Major changes have been a hallmark of the MCU’s history. The Marvel Studios executive Stephen Broussard previously spoke out on the topic, commenting that one of the meta-narratives for Phase 4 was focused on newer characters and passing along mantles. Broussard stated, “Look at, for example, Cassie [Lang Quantumania] receiving a suit and Kate Bishop (in Hawkeye], the introduction of new characters like Jack in Werewolf by Night.” Torches are being passed after the first ten years of Marvel storytelling. For example, Robert Downey Jr. is no longer [on] the table and other stuff like this. It was almost like a new generation rising to the top, which has been happening in comics for a long time.

Who will make it to the Kang Dynasty or Beyond?

Avengers. The Kang Dynasty writer Jeff Loveness suggested that some characters may be in the film. He mentioned Yelena Belova, Kang the Conqueror, and Shuri, respectively played, but he did not go into details. Loveness suggested that Daredevil, Moon Knight could be in the film. He also discussed why the upcoming MCU heroes Blade or the Fantastic Four might not appear in the film. Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed that either of the former characters will be appearing in The Kang Dynasty.

A recent report suggests that Doctor Strange could be one of the movie’s villains. No official announcement has been made, but Daredevil’s and Moon Knight’s chances of appearing in the movie have been confirmed.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty opens in theaters on May 2, 2025.
