- Polaris’ visit to her sister’s magic shop is interrupted when a microscopic warrior needs help. Polaris and Scarlet Witch put their own mysteries on hold to join them on a wonderful journey through Sub-Atomica. Darcy Lewis, Wanda’s mysterious shop clerk, returns with a vengeance.
Mysterium was first discovered in 2020’s S.W.O.R.D. #1 is an extremely durable metal that can only be made by the world’s mutants. Mysterium was born in the White Hot Room, the plane of existence that serves to house the Phoenix. It has many powerful properties, including the ability to conduct electricity and negate magical powers.
The anti-magic abilities of the new metal found in Scarlet Witch’s possession and Polaris’ possession seem to be superior to Mysterium. While examining Scarlet Witch#2, Wanda thought: “So many unknowns in a such small stone. It’s not cold iron. Not Orichalcum. Not Uru. They couldn’t repel my magic. All spells of Inquest will float around you.”

Scarlet Witch’s New Storefront
Scarlet Witch, who is now the Emporium keeper, spends her days looking for unusual artifacts and cryptic metals. Wanda opened the shop in Scarlet Witch#1, explaining that her business was to sell magic goods to those in need. Scarlet Witch is the only person who can access the Lost Door. This portal allows people in desperate straits to enter the store. Scarlet Witch has helped a variety of characters across the Marvel universe, including Storm and Viv Vision.

Wanda’s desire to help others stems from her desire to make a fresh start. This is after years of tragedy. She has a difficult relationship with Vision and her ties to Magneto. In Issue #1 Quicksilver was initially skeptical about his sister’s business venture, but he soon became a fan.
Scarlet Witch#3 was written by Steve Orlando. It is illustrated by Sara Pichelli and inked by Elisabetta Da’Amico. Matthew Wilson colored it, while Cory Petit lettered. The issue’s main cover features Russell Dauterman, and variant covers by Alex Ross and Carmen Carnero, Nolan Woodard, and Nabetse Zitro. Scarlet Witch#3 will be available on March 8, 2023, at Marvel.
